About Me

Katie Koenig

Hi, I'm Katie, and I believe that understanding your finances is the first step towards a prosperous and secure future. With a Bachelor's in Business Administration from George Washington University, where I majored in Marketing and Sports Management, I've always had a knack for numbers. From scoring a 720 on the SAT Math section to acing AP Calculus and Statistics, I've always been a bit of a math nerd. This passion extends beyond academics—I find joy in demystifying finances for others, turning complex data into actionable advice.

My journey with personal finance started early, working in my father's art business, learning the value of every penny earned. I saved diligently through high school and college, which enabled me to gain independence immediately upon graduating. My early career began modestly, making $35K a year, and from there, my financial story grew to include tackling significant debt, investing in real estate, and eventually achieving a net worth in the millions alongside my college sweetheart and now husband.

It wasn't until I was 36 that I started budgeting meticulously, but I've managed my finances through a monthly Profit & Loss statement since my early twenties. This disciplined approach helped my husband and I pay off $90K in student loans in just three years and led to our successful investment in rental properties. Our philosophy is simple: live frugally, budget to the last dollar, and communicate openly about finances.

At Budget Boss Katie, I share the practical advice that helped my husband and I build our wealth and navigate financial discussions as a couple. Whether you're preparing for marriage or already navigating your journey together, I’m here to guide you. From discussing how to approach financial conversations with your partner to teaching your children about money, my goal is to help you become a master of your financial destiny.

Join me in embracing a life where financial understanding leads to financial empowerment!
